She woke up from the sunlight spilling into her bedroom from the windows by her bed. Unlike other days, she was early; the sounds of the early birds chirping outside the glass panels were an unfamiliar sound to her ears. Although her body was begging her to stay in, Kimberly pulled herself out of her messy bed. Still feeling slightly groggy, she looked around her bedroom.
Something was different.
Some things were missing.
Why did the table seem to be a little more bare than the night before? Why did the clothes in her cupboard seem to be lacking a bunch of clothes. Why was her boyfriend's coat missing from behind the door?
Why was there a cab waiting outside her front door?
She rushed downstairs looking for answers, only to see the young man she's spent the past five years with walk out the front door, without a word. He left a note on the table by the door.
She fell to her knees, sobbing.
"Don't leave me.. Not now."
